Onions

Onions may be grown from seeds or sets, but best results from seeds. Seeds grow best in well drained peat soils and are sensitive to spacing. Sets sprout well in cold, wet, spring soils where seed cannot germinate and can be harvested in less than two months. Transplants are more trouble-free and easy to plant and have a higher certainty.
