Short, stout plants matured a full two weeks before all other ornamental corn varieties in our 1994 trials. Plant just before last frost. Bred to be the hardiest corn in the world. Multi-purpose corn can be eaten as sweet corn or hominy, or ground for use as an excellent flour for tortillas and corn bread. Vivid colors indicate high flavonoid content. Painted Mountain is being used today as an ornamental in craft projects utilizing the multi-colored stalks and husks. Northern farmers are using Painted Mountain as an early corn fodder crop.

    Dakota Ivory Corn-Organic

    An early white open pollinated corn devolped from Native American seed stock by Steve Zwinger. Dakota Ivory is a dry flour corn that grinds easily with a sweet unigue taste. It can also be eaten as a white sweet corn. Plants are 4-6 feet tall with 1-2 ears per plant. Eare averae 6-8" with 10-12 rows per ear. It is tolerant to cool soils with good seedling vigor.
