Perennial Sweet Pea Mix is a colorful blend of vigorous, long-lived vines that produce masses of delicate blooms in shades of pink, rose, red, and white. Unlike annual sweet peas, these hardy perennials return year after year, creating a beautiful display on fences, trellises, arbors, and other garden supports.

Blooming from late spring into summer, the flowers attract bees, butterflies, and other beneficial pollinators while adding vertical interest to the landscape. Although they lack the strong fragrance of annual sweet peas, their abundant blooms, easy care, and dependable performance make them a favorite for cottage gardens and perennial borders.

  • Type: Open-pollinated perennial
  • Direct sow: Early spring after the last frost or fall in mild climates
  • Sun: Full sun to partial shade
  • Spacing: 8–12 inches
  • Vine length: 6–8 feet
  • Days to bloom: 90–120 days

Perennial sweet peas grow best in fertile, well-drained soil with consistent moisture during establishment. Sow seeds after lightly nicking or soaking them overnight to improve germination. Provide a sturdy trellis or other support for climbing vines, and remove spent flowers to encourage continued blooming. Cut plants back after flowering or in late fall to maintain vigorous growth for future seasons.
