Seascape is a highly productive everbearing strawberry variety prized for its large, sweet berries and excellent performance across a wide range of climates. Originally developed in California, this variety is known for producing attractive bright red fruit with outstanding flavor, firm texture, and reliable yields over an extended season. The vigorous plants tolerate heat well and continue producing through summer and into fall in many growing regions.

As an everbearing variety, Seascape produces multiple harvests throughout the growing season rather than a single concentrated crop. The berries are large, juicy, and well balanced in sweetness and acidity, making them excellent for fresh eating as well as desserts, preserves, smoothies, and baking. The firm fruit also holds up well after harvest, giving Seascape excellent versatility for both home gardeners and market growers.

Seascape is especially valued for its strong disease tolerance, adaptability, and dependable production under both cool and warm growing conditions. Its long harvest season and consistently high fruit quality have made it one of the most popular everbearing strawberries for home gardens.

Growing Instructions: Bare root strawberry plants should be planted as soon as possible upon arrival. If they cannot be safely planted outdoors, plant them in a pot of soil indoors and water.

Once the soil is workable, dig a hole deep enough so the roots extend vertically and are not bent. Cover the plants with soil just below the crown (where the plant top meets the roots). The crown should be at soil surface, not buried. Avoid planting strawberries in an area where they were recently grown, or where crops in the tomato family (including eggplants, potatoes and peppers) have grown, as they may carry a root fungus.

Remove all blossoms 6-8 weeks after planting to improve yields. Clip off runners to keep the plants from getting too crowded.

Over the next few year, if you carefully cover your strawberry plants with straw or mulch, they will overwinter and come back the next year in most climates. You can also start fresh with new, disease-free planting stock. If growing in containers, replace the growth medium with fresh sterile medium, and replant with new plants.
