Red Russian Garlic is a Marbled Purple Stripe hardneck variety brought to the Pacific Northwest by Russian immigrants in the early 1900s. It is highly valued for its ability to withstand very cold winter temperatures while maintaining vigorous growth and dependable garden performance. This variety produces attractive medium-sized bulbs with rich coloration and strong garlic character.

Typically producing 5–8 cloves per bulb, Red Russian offers bold, full flavor that holds up exceptionally well in cooking. It stores reliably for several months and performs best in regions with cold to cool winters.
