Description
Pre-nuclear potatoes are the earliest generation of potatoes. These are grown from tissue culture in our greenhouses. As these have never been grown in native soil and they are free of disease. These marble sized tubers can produce high yields of up to 200% or more by weight. Old Irish variety introduced in 1917. Medium peach-colored pink skin, floury flesh and small red eyes. In Ireland, potatoes are never peeled (retains the vitamins); but washed and put in water which is then brought to a boil. About two-thirds of the water is then poured off and the potatoes are allowed to steam.
