Description

Garlic starts shipping mid-September, cannot be shipped sooner. Hardneck garlic is only available in the fall.

Spanish Roja Garlic is a gourmet Rocambole hardneck variety famous for its exceptional flavor and rich culinary quality. The bulbs feature light purple streaks and typically contain 7–13 easy-to-peel cloves with a bold, full-bodied garlic taste. This heirloom variety was brought to the Pacific Northwest before 1900 and is also commonly known as “Greek Blue.”

Especially well suited to colder climates, Spanish Roja performs best where winters provide sufficient chill and may not yield as well in areas with very mild winters. It remains highly popular with market gardeners and restaurants for its strong flavor, attractive bulbs, and reliable performance.
